The Courtyard Bazaar: For Kebabs and Curries

In recent times, there has been a surge of restaurants that has made the city a food lover's haven. Almost every week, a couple of restaurants make their debut in the city restaurant scene. Each are different in its own way, in terms of cuisine, ambience and of course taste and flavor.

To meet the growing demand of dine-outs, The Courtyard Bazaar debuted in December 2018. True to its name, it's a cosy and casual restaurant, that is nestled in a courtyard. With patches of greens, in vines and potted plants, the place is indeed a breather amongst the city's concrete jungle.

The place is mainly a kabab and grill place. The menu has two distinct segments: Ibrahim's Arabian and Courtyard Grill (for Kebab and Curry). Alongwith the regular kebabs and tikkas and sheeks, there are tasty and tempting treats like Bheja Fry and Khatakhat. For those who prefer gravy dishes, there is Palak Butter Masala, Chicken Butter Masala, Chicken Tikka Masala. For the vegetarians, the menu offers Palak Paneer, Dal Makhani, Aloo Gobi. A variety of naans, parathas, luchis, steamed rice are the main accompaniments.

The Arabian cuisines include a variety of wraps. Like: Falafel wrap, Shwarma Wrap. There are also a couple of set meals, which includes Shwarma Meal, Arabian Meal, etc. These meals are complete with mains like rice or shwarma, with side dishes like Toum (garlic pickles). The platters are also quite rich in terms of the combination they come in (like keftas, sheeks, and grills).

For A la Carte, the choices are limited though, but quite varied. There is Shish Tawook, Hummus, Baba Ghanoush, Grilled Chicken to choose from.

Kulfi, Faluda, Kheer, and Khunafa couple the dessert segment of the menu. Different types of coffee and tea, paired with treats like Malai Cha with Luchi, and spiced Hot Chocolate, Iced Lemon Tea, Laban and Lassi -- these are the drinks to choose from.

With their dainty outdoor seating, which includes patios and a little covered nook -- the restaurant can accommodate around 100 guests (including indoor dining). The Courtyard Bazar is open from 2pm till 2am. Even if it's after hours after midnight -- there is one place in Dhaka which waits on guests.
