Radisson Blu Dhaka hosts iftar for underprivileged children

Dhaka : Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden hosted its annual iftar for underprivileged children from A Free School and Moinul Qur'an Madrasa at the hotel's newly renovated Grand Ball Room on May 21.

Lt. General Sabbir Ahmed, SBP, OSP, SGP, ndc, psc (retd.), Managing Director of Sena Hotel Developments Limited (SHDL) and Alexander Haeusler, General Manager of Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden were present on the occasion. Other high officials of the hotel also attended the event.

The children were seen enjoying themselves at the iftar. They were served with colourful jilapi, pakora, haleem, lemonades and many more delicious items. They were also provided with takeaway boxes for dinner.

Radisson Blu Dhaka has been hosting this event since 2010 as part of its Responsible Business Initiative.

A Free School is a voluntary organisation providing education to the children living in slums. They provide education up to grade eight and later on give the children some vocational training. The organisation offers free books for children, extracurricular activities, vocational training and higher education. Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden has been providing financial support to this organisation since 2014 by paying for one teacher's monthly salary.

Moinul Qur'an Madrasa, on the other hand, provides education to the extreme poor including orphans. Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden has been hosting the students of the madrasa since 2010.
