World Tourism Day to be observed on September 27

DHAKA: As in every year, World Tourism Day 2018 will be observed on September 27 with this year’s theme “Tourism and the Digital Transformation.”

AKM Shahjahan Kamal, Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism, said this while addressing a press conference in the city on Tuesday.

A colourful procession will be taken out on the day from Matshya Bhaban which will end at Raju Sculpture on Dhaka University campus.

Two hundred cyclists, who will take part in a bicycle rally organised by Bangladesh Cycle Lane Bastobayan Parishad from Manik Mia Avenue to Dhaka University, will join the procession there.

Bangladesh Tourism Board, with the cooperation of BTRC will launch a SMS blast to make the people aware about this year’s theme.

The three-day Seventh Asian Tourism Fair 2018 will be inaugurated at International Convention City, Bashundhara in the city.

Aviation and Tourism Journalists Forum of Bangladesh will organise a three-day Tourism Fest 2018 at Rabindra Sarobar in the city, in cooperation with BTB.

Cultural rallies, photo exhibitions and quiz competitions will also be arranged.
