DBI organises workshop on shipping procedures at its premise

Dhaka: DCCI Business Institute (DBI) organised a workshop on ‘Shipping Procedures for Export, Import & Customs Formalities’ on 11-12 January 2019 at its premise.

Different prominent organisations nominated 25 business professionals in total who participated in the workshop. Md. Arif Khan, Chief Consultant (Supply Chain & Logistics), Sullivan Consulting & Learning Services conducted the workshop as Resource Person.

The workshop intended to broaden the participants’ mental horizon and make them conversant with very important issues on export, import and customs.

The closing and certificate awarding ceremony of the said program was held on 12 January 2019 at DBI premises.

Enamul Haque Patwary, Director, DCCI graced the program as Chief Guest and shared his life story as an importer & exporter. He stated, “Shipping procedure is an indispensable document in international business. Considering the competitiveness of the global market, the main activities of business houses are procurement, marketing and knowing domestic and international procedures for export and Import.”

He also pointed out that shipping documents including Bill of Lading, Packing List etc. are also very essential for export.

So, skilled, efficient, knowledgeable and trained manpower is a must for success in international trade.

Md. Joynal Abdin, Acting Secretary, DCCI and Executive Director, DBI offered the vote of thanks in this programme. He was thankful to the organisations for nominating their officials to the workshop & training programme organised by DBI. He advised the participants to share this knowledge with fellow colleagues and implement it in respective organisations.

Resource Person Dilruba Sharmin Khan, Director, Group HR, Team Group was also present in the occasion along with Tamanna Sultana, Deputy Secretary (Training), whom moderated the programme.
