Dhaka: The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Dhaka is organising the Indonesian trade, tourism and investment expo ‘IndonesiaFair 2019’ for the second time this year on April 25-27 at International Convention Center Bashundhara (ICCB) in the capital.
Rina P. Soemarno, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia made the announcement today at a press conference held at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka. Mostafa Q. Sobhan, Director of Indonesia-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IBCCI), was also present on the occasion.
The fair will have around 40 exhibitors showcasing diverse consumer and industrial goods made in Indonesia as well as services. The traditional and world famous Indonesian Batik, fashion jewellery, handicraft, food and beverages, automotives and special offers will also be showcased at the three day fair.
“This year the fair is not only focusing to encourage Indonesian entrepreneurs and companies to expand their businesses in Bangladesh directly but also to motivate them to invest in Bangladesh,” said Rina P. Soemarno, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia.
A number of Indonesia’s state-owned enterprises will be participating at the expo this year such as PT Pertamina (oil and natural gas industry), PT INKA (railway industry), Garuda Maintenance Facility-GMF Aeroasia (maintenance, repair and overhaul industry), PT PINDAD (military and heavy equipment industry) and Indonesian Railway Consortium.
The secretary General of Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs will lead the delegation from Indonesia at the IndonesiaFair 2019 and the Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce of Bangladesh will be the Chief Guest at the inaugural ceremony on April 25.
The opening ceremony will also feature a handover of Indonesian buses exported by CV Laksana to its Bangladesh partner Shohagh Group.
The Indonesian Embassy and IBCCI together are organising an Indonesia-Bangladesh Business and Investment Forum on April 26 at the fair.
During the three day IndonesiaFair 2019, a number of B2B Business Matching Sessions will be organised. 25 businesses and companies have registered to meet with prospective partners in Bangladesh to discuss business, venture or investment cooperation, said Mostafa Q. Sobhan, Director, IBCCI.
Other highlights of the fair include traditional dance sessions, fashion shows, product demos, video presentations and photo booth with Indonesian traditional setting.
The entry to IndonesiaFair 2019 is free. It will be open for visitors from 11 am to 8 pm on April 25-26 and from 11 am to 6:30 pm on April 27.
