Dhaka: Thai Airways International is going to resume direct flights between Bangkok and Sendai in Japan from October 29.
Sumet Damrongchaitham, President of THAI confirmed that the airline has signed an agreement with Sendai in Japan to resume direct flights between the two cities for a three-year period, offering three round-trip flights per week.
THAI currently provides chartered flights between Bangkok and Sendai. The carrier expects that up to 80 per cent of Thai travellers will fly with them to Sendai and 20 per cent of Japanese travellers to Bangkok.
The anticipated number of air travellers could increase two or three times in the future.
In promotional round-trip flights, the air fare begins at THB13,420 (USD429) for single passengers and THB12,820 (USD410) for each member of a group of four passengers.
