Shiper Ahmed new President of Sylhet Chamber

Sylhet: Khondker Shiper Ahmed has been elected as the new president of Sylhet Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) for the next term ( 2017-19). Renowned businessman Shiper is also the Sylhet Representative of The Bangladesh Monitor, premier travel and tourism English fortnightly of Bangladesh . Md. Layes Uddin and Md. Emdad Hossain were elected as senior vice-president and vice-president respectively.

Result of the election was made public by Bijit Chowdhury, Chairman of the Election Board in presence of the of the candidates and local elite among others on Monday, May 22. He announced that all three top brass of the Chamber elected uncontested.

Other elected Directors of SCCI are Shahidur Rahman, Pintu Chakrabarty, Md. Wahiduzzaman( Bhutto), Mushfique Jaigirder, Ehteshamul Haque Chowdhury, Chandan Saha, Abdur Rahman, Falah Uddin Ali Ahmed, Abdur Rahman Zamil, Humayun Ahmed, Mujibur Rahman Mintu, Md. Atik Hossain, Nurul Islam, Ziaul Haque and Masud Ahmed Chowdhury.

An Illustrious personality and entrepreneur, Shiper Ahmed is the founder of Shiper Air Services Ltd and Founder President of Aviation Club of Sylhet. He is involved in various socio-cultural organizations.
