Sheraton Dhaka rolls out 10-day 'Coastal Carnival' seafood festival


Dhaka: Sheraton Dhaka, in collaboration with Mutual Trust Bank PLC, has launched "Coastal Carnival," a grand seafood festival bringing together diverse global seafood flavors for food enthusiasts in the capital.
The 10-day-long festival, running from July 8 to 18, is being held at The Garden Kitchen, located on the 14th floor of the property's premises in Banani.
The festival was officially inaugurated on July 8 through a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Ambassador of Spain Gabriel María Sistiaga Ochoa de Chinchetru and High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam Haji Haris bin Haji Othman attended the event, along with Md. Shakawath Hossain, CEO of Unique Hotel & Resorts PLC, representatives of Mutual Trust Bank PLC, expatriate seafood chefs, and Sheraton Dhaka's leadership team.
The inauguration was followed by an exclusive tasting session, where guests sampled the signature seafood dishes featured throughout the festival.
Seafood experts Chef Rimoun Obaid, Chef Hiromi Yonekawa, and Chef Sait Dursun, alongside Sheraton Dhaka's local culinary talents Chef Mahbubur Rashid Akhand and Chef Dulak Paul, are presenting a culinary journey inspired by coastal flavors from around the world.
Guests dining during the festival can enjoy an extensive seafood spread, including Seafood Paella Valenciana, Seafood Jambalaya Rice, Tuna and Salmon Teriyaki, Fish Bharta, Fish Sayadieh, Beetroot Salmon Gravlax, and Lobster Bisque, among other signature creations.
A key highlight is the Live Seafood Experience Counter, featuring premium selections such as Norwegian Salmon, Octopus, Tuna, King Prawns, and Lobsters. Guests can personally choose their preferred seafood, which is then prepared to order for a fresh, personalized dining experience.
The festival features seven dedicated culinary stations, each showcasing distinct seafood flavors and preparations.
For non-seafood lovers, the buffet also includes meat specialties such as Irish Lamb Stew, Greek Lamb Shank, Mutton Nehari, and Mutton Rogan Josh, among other authentic favorites.
Dessert lovers can indulge in an array of sweets, including Chocolate Milk Baklava, Pistachio & Coconut Baklava, Turkish Rawani, Tulumba, Moshabak, Arabian Medovik, Kunafa, Coconut Delights, and Matcha Mousse Cake.
