Batik Air, IJN partner to boost Malaysia's medical tourism sector
Kuala Lumpur : Batik Air Malaysia, Institut Jantung Negara (IJN), and Tourism Malaysia have launched a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening Malaysia's medical tourism sector while promoting preventive heart care through improved air connectivity and healthcare access. The collaboration combines Batik Air's regional network with IJN's specialized cardiovascular expertise to make heart screening and treatment more accessible for international travelers, particularly medical tourists. Under the initiative, Batik Air international passengers will receive a 15 percent discount on IJN's Essential Health Screening package by presenting a valid boarding pass. The first 1,000 eligible passengers will also enjoy a 20 percent discount on IJN's Premier Heart Screening package, which includes comprehensive cardiovascular assessments. To support overseas patients, Batik Air will offer a 10 percent airfare discount for international travelers visiting IJN for treatment upon presentation of an official hospital appointment letter. Batik Air Chief Executive Officer Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy said, the partnership reflects the growing link between aviation and healthcare, making cross-border treatment more accessible. The collaboration, which took effect on May 1, 2026, will continue through April 30, 2027.
